Georgios Bartzokas: “We Needed to Play the Last Three Minutes Completely Differently”

Olympiacos head coach Georgios Bartzokas evaluated the match against Anadolu Efes.

In the fourth week of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, our representative Anadolu Efes hosted Olympiacos and secured their second victory in the league.

Olympiacos head coach Georgios Bartzokas made statements at the press conference following the match.

Bartzokas’ comments during the press conference were as follows:

“Good evening everyone, I would like to congratulate Anadolu Efes on their victory. This was a tough loss for us; we had 23 assists and only three turnovers in the first three quarters. In contrast, we finished the game with 26 assists and nine turnovers. The turnovers we made, especially in the closing moments of the match, led to our defeat today. We need to value the ball better and capitalize on the opportunities we create. With every turnover, we allowed the opponent a chance for fast breaks. Other than the last three minutes, we played well today, but we needed to play those last three minutes completely differently. Nevertheless, there’s nothing we can do now; we will learn the necessary lessons from this defeat. I congratulate Efes once again; the performance of our opponent and the atmosphere here were fantastic.”
