Geovany Quenda Breaks Silence on Awkward Cristiano Ronaldo Encounter
Speaking out about his awkward encounter with Cristiano Ronaldo, Geovany Quenda acknowledges that he “didn’t say anything” to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
During an international training session with the Portuguese national team, Portuguese sensation Geovany Quenda shared the embarrassing moment he met his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo. Quenda, a 17-year-old who doesn’t get much playing time at Sporting Lisbon, was overcome with admiration upon meeting the renowned forward.
Quenda and Ronaldo’s Uncomfortable Meeting
Quenda described the incident, which happened in an elevator during the September training session, in an interview with Canal 11. Quenda acknowledges that he was too overcome to say anything to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, even though he had the chance to talk with him:
“He was going up and I was going down. He was ascending when I rang the elevator, and he showed up. I felt a little ashamed, but that’s common! I remained silent.”
The Impact of Ronaldo on Quenda
Like a lot of young football players, Quenda looks up to Ronaldo as a role model and inspiration. “He’s an example for everyone, for all the kids who dream of being footballers.” he remarked, emphasizing Ronaldo’s influence on soccer players worldwide.
