Hansi Flick Criticizes Real Madrid’s Referee Video Ahead of El Clasico: “It’s Not Right”
A video exposing alleged inaccuracies in referee Jose Maria Sanchez Martinez’s officiating of previous Los Blancos games was published by Real Madrid TV ahead of the El Clasico match at the Santiago Bernabeu. Spanish football has responded to the film, which was meant to criticize Martinez’s officiating. Hansi Flick, the coach of Barcelona, has expressed his extreme dissatisfaction.
Flick was adamant about his position when questioned about the video, saying that it is “not right” to target referees in this way. The Barcelona manager expressed his opinion that referees already have a challenging job and shouldn’t be the focus of public criticism before to a game of this size.
“I have a lot of experience and I’ve never had any problems with the referees.”
Flick says to concentrate on performance rather than referees
Flick underlined that he has told his team to concentrate just on their performance and not let referee calls divert them. Flick emphasized his resolve to keep the team’s focus on their game preparation rather than outside controversies by saying, “We can’t be busy with these things but with full energy and focus on our performance.”
