Hansi Flick’s Admission About İlkay Gündoğan

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick spoke at a press conference ahead of their La Liga match against Athletic Bilbao, addressing several key topics, including the departure of İlkay Gündoğan, who recently returned to Manchester City.

Speaking about Gündoğan, Flick praised the German midfielder’s character: “İlkay Gündoğan is a wonderful person. He told us he wanted to help the club, but then he changed his mind and decided to leave.” Flick acknowledged the contribution Gündoğan wanted to make before his departure.

When asked about Nico Williams, the Athletic Bilbao player who has been linked with a move to Barcelona, Flick remained diplomatic: “It’s not my place to talk about players who play for other teams.”

Regarding potential reinforcements on the left wing before the transfer window closes, Flick stated, “As I’ve always said, I’m focused on the players we have. We’ll see what happens next week.”
