Harry Kane vs. Robert Lewandowski: Bayern Chief Reveals Key Differences

Ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League matchup with Barcelona, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has drawn comparisons between the team’s current star striker Harry Kane and past superstar Robert Lewandowski. Despite the fact that both strikers are regarded as some of the best of their time, Rummenigge emphasized their differences while also recognizing the special traits they offered Bayern.

Lewandowski had a fantastic eight-year career at Bayern, winning numerous domestic championships and the 2020 Champions League. Lewandowski, who is well-known for consistently scoring goals, emerged as a key member of the Bavarian powerhouses.

“Robert was a really important player on the pitch and a good guy off it. In several instances when things got difficult, he was also a valuable advisor to me.”

The Effect of Kane at Bayern

Harry Kane, an Englishman who had played his whole career at Tottenham Hotspur, paid a hefty €100 million (£86 million/$110 million) to join Bayern Munich in 2023. Even though Kane hasn’t won a trophy with Bayern yet, his ability to score goals has won him over supporters. Noting the striker’s ability to add goals to an otherwise difficult season, Rummenigge said:

“It’s not by chance that you score 36 goals in a season that ultimately was not successful from FC Bayern’s point of view. Both are very successful and yet they are very different.”
