Harsh Words from İbrahim Üzülmez on Batshuayi and Mert Hakan
Shocking Statements from Beşiktaş Legend İbrahim Üzülmez
Üzülmez Criticizes Batshuayi
İbrahim Üzülmez, who last coached Pendikspor in the Süper Lig, made notable comments about Michy Batshuayi and Mert Hakan Yandaş in an interview with Fanatik.
Regarding Batshuayi, Üzülmez said:
“Batshuayi made a statement about speaking English with Okan Buruk, saying that communication with him was good. He implied that he couldn’t communicate with İsmail Kartal. Batshuayi has been here for four years, playing for Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, and Galatasaray, and earning a lot of money. Let him come out in an interview and say, ‘I love Turkey’ in Turkish.”
Statements on Mert Hakan Yandaş
Following the Fenerbahçe vs. Pendikspor match, Mert Hakan Yandaş made some remarks. Üzülmez addressed this:
“My statement wasn’t fitting. I said it in a moment of aggression. As a coach, I shouldn’t have made such a statement. The tension was very high. However, Mert Hakan Yandaş and İrfan Can Kahveci must realize they are playing for a big club. They draw attention everywhere they go. We played in big clubs as well. They need to do some self-criticism. If they continue behaving this way, the chaos will grow. Especially in matches against Galatasaray and Trabzonspor, they always stand out. They need to turn a new page.”
Incident After Mert Hakan’s Goal
Evaluating the events after Mert Hakan’s goal, Üzülmez added:
“Nothing happened after the goal, but during the match, Mert Hakan reacted to the referee when Umut Nayir stayed on the ground for a short time after a play. I asked him, ‘Do you think Umut is pretending to be injured?’ He said, ‘No, coach, I don’t think so.’ He admitted it. Then don’t overreact. The referee had already added 11 minutes and then 6 more minutes. We all need to do self-criticism in every aspect.”
