Hatayspor President Mıstıkoğlu comments on Boupendza: “We never had any intention…”

Hatayspor President Levent Mıstıkoğlu evaluated the Galatasaray match from the first week of the Trendyol Süper Lig and made statements to İhlas News Agency (İHA) regarding the club’s ongoing transfer activities.

Emphasizing that Hatayspor suffered an undeserved loss against Galatasaray in the first week of the Süper Lig, President Levent Mıstıkoğlu said, “Our team fought very well against Galatasaray. Everyone who watched the match acknowledged this. They really put their hearts into it and fought hard. Hatayspor did not deserve to lose against Galatasaray. Unfortunately, we did not get the result we deserved for our performance. We are satisfied with our team. The transfer window is not over yet, and we are continuing to make transfers. We will fill our gaps. Hatayspor is on a good path, and it will be even better, you can be sure of that.”

“No intention regarding Boupendza”
Mıstıkoğlu also stated that they had no thoughts of re-signing Gabonese striker Aaron Boupendza, who previously won the Süper Lig Golden Boot, saying, “We never had any intention regarding Boupendza. It’s said that Boupendza lacks proper sportsmanship. As far as I know, he has already agreed with another club. We do not see Boupendza as fitting for Hatayspor in any way. We have 2-3 more gaps to fill. Once we complete those, the team will be complete. As I said, we do not intend to make unrealistic or high-cost transfers. We have to make transfers that will truly benefit the team and fit within our budget. We are doing our best to acquire the best players within our financial means.”
