One of the most talked-about names in the transfer market, İlkay Gündoğan, has made his decision on his future. The star midfielder, who had been linked with Super Lig giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, has left Barcelona and returned to Manchester City. Gündoğan has signed a one-year contract with the Premier League club.
A Farewell to Barcelona
Gündoğan shared a farewell message to Barcelona on his social media accounts, expressing mixed emotions about his departure:
“After one year, it’s time to say goodbye. I came here ready to face a new and exciting challenge, and I gave everything to fight for the team and the club in a difficult season. I was looking forward to helping my teammates in the new season, but now I leave in a tough situation. It eases my sadness knowing my departure will financially help the club. It was an incredible experience full of ups and downs. I had always wanted to play for Barcelona. I wish the best for the season and the future. The fans deserve to see this great club become the best in the world.”
With this move, Gündoğan returns to Manchester City, where he previously spent seven successful years, winning multiple trophies under Pep Guardiola’s management.
I remembered the restaurant monument between him and Pep.
