“Ioannis Sfairopoulos: ‘Fenerbahce Was Also a Physical Team, But…’

Crvena Zvezda head coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos spoke after the Barcelona defeat.

In the fourth week of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Crvena Zvezda suffered their first loss of the season, falling to Barcelona in overtime at home.

Speaking at the post-game press conference, Sfairopoulos was asked whether Barcelona’s physicality caused problems for his team:

‘Wasn’t Fenerbahce also a physical team? Physically, Barcelona is very similar to Fenerbahce, but we didn’t have issues against them. I have to say, players are not machines. They are humans too, so it’s normal that sometimes they don’t play as well in certain games.'”
