‘It’s Sh*t’ – Kevin Grosskreutz ‘In Shock’ Over Klopp Accepting Red Bull Role

Jurgen Klopp’s appointment as Red Bull’s Global Head of Soccer has angered former Borussia Dortmund player Kevin Grosskreutz, who called it “sh*t.”

When former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was named Red Bull’s new global head of soccer earlier this week, supporters took offense. Playing 176 Bundesliga games for Borussia Dortmund under Klopp, Grosskreutz said he was “in shock” to hear the news.

What Kevin Grosskreutz Said

Speaking on his Viertelstunde Fußball podcast, Grosskreutz said:

“I woke up, I had 30 messages on my phone and I thought: What happened? I thought I was dreaming, then I hoped it was fake news. Two hours later, it was official. It was pretty shocking and sad, and somehow it still hasn’t really sunk in.”

He continued:

“I don’t think anyone was expecting it. It’s very, very strange, and I can’t really comprehend it yet. It’s like shock! As a football fan, I think it sucks, to put it bluntly! But as a friend, you have to accept decisions. When we meet, I’ll still tell him personally that I think it’s sh*t he’s doing something like that!”
