Jamie Carragher Warns Man City Could Face Transfer Hesitation Amid Financial Charges

Jamie Carragher has pointed out that because of the 115 financial allegations still pending against Manchester City, prospective transfer targets may “think twice” before joining the team.

Significant financial allegations still surround City, despite the club’s recent legal victory over portions of the Premier League’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations, where senior judges, including a former Master of the Rolls, found the “Associated Party Transactions” rules to be restrictive. As many people wait for the independent commission’s conclusions, the allegations that are still pending cast doubt on the city’s future.

Carragher’s View

In his column for The Telegraph, Carragher expressed caution:

“Any player approached by City between now and the end of the season will want to wait for the outcome of the case into the 115 charges. Nobody knows if there will be significant sporting sanctions against the club. Until that has been resolved, a wise agent will tell his client to let the process take its course before putting pen to paper, especially if they have alternative options.”
