Jordan: Lawson should be Perez’s seat

Eddie Jordan believes Liam Lawson should replace Sergio Perez in 2025.Liam Lawson  qualified fifth after qualifying ninth in the sprint race at the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend

In Sunday’s race, he managed to finish two places ahead of Sergio Perez and earned points.

This prompted former team boss Eddie Jordan to praise Lawson.

“The one that stands out to me, honestly, is Lawson,” Jordan said on the Formula For Success podcast.

“He rode under a lot of pressure but he knows how to handle himself.”

“He didn’t have the car that Lewis Hamilton or any of the other drivers had, but he showed a level of competence that I was very impressed with. He’s ready to fly in 2025!”

“On the other hand, Perez missed a lot of opportunities that came his way. That’s why I don’t believe he can race next year.” 

“Perez is a really likeable guy, but being likeable doesn’t win you races. Lawson is a big deal and he should be the number two driver at Red Bull.”
