Jorge Martin becomes 2024 MotoGP World Champion!
The final leg of the 2024 MotoGP World Championship, the Barcelona race, started in sunny weather conditions.
Pecco Bagnaia, who started the race from pole position, managed to maintain the lead. Jorge Martin, who started the race from 4th place, managed to take 2nd place.
With 23 laps remaining, Marc Marquez, in third place, managed to move up to second place by overtaking Martin.
With 21 laps remaining, Alex Marquez overtook Franco Morbidelli to move into 7th place.
With 18 laps remaining, Joan Mir crashed and retired from the race.
Meanwhile, Marquez followed Bagnaia closely, while Martin continued his race comfortably in 3rd place.
With 15 laps remaining, Bagnaia made a small mistake but managed to avoid being passed by Marquez.
With 13 laps to go, a fierce battle began between Aleix Espargaro and Alex Marquez. Espargaro left his rival behind and moved into 4th place.
Bagnaia won the relatively uneventful race, but it was not enough to clinch the championship, with Martin finishing on the final step of the podium to win his first MotoGP World Championship.
Marc Marquez, who finished the race in 2nd place, won the fight for third place in the championship with Enea Bastianini.
Ducati became the constructors’ champion of the 2024 season.
