Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens star guard Kendrick Nunn is once again turning heads in the EuroLeague for the second consecutive season. Fresh off a career-high 29-point performance against FC Barcelona on Tuesday, his confidence is soaring alongside his stellar play on the court.
“I expected all of this [before coming to Europe]. Honestly, I did. I don’t know what else to say, I expected it,” Kendrick Nunn told Bojan Brezovac of Mozzart Sport ahead of the EuroLeague Round 14 game at Partizan.
The 29-year-old American, who earned All-EuroLeague First Team honors and won the championship last season, is maintaining his impressive form. He’s currently averaging 18.9 points (2nd in the league), 3.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.
Kendrick Nunn, a former NBA player, attributes his standout performances to his unyielding confidence and relentless work ethic. “I have the confidence that sets me apart, but the work… Man, how much I work on my skills,” Nunn said. “If someone would film me and document all my training. It’s hours and hours. If you added it all up, I think I would be a year ahead of the competition.”
For Kendrick Nunn, the offseason isn’t about rest – it’s about growth. “When the summer comes, most guys want to rest and relax, but that’s my time to work and improve,” Kendrick Nunn explained. “I get away from the team, I’m alone, and I just work. It’s been like that for years.”
His dedication has elevated him to a point where, in his own words, no one in Europe can stop him defensively. “I can’t single out one player because no player can stop me,” Nunn said confidently. “You need two or three guys to stop me from scoring. It takes a team plan to stop me. I’ve worked too hard in my career to get to the level where there isn’t one player who can stop me. One player is simply not a factor.”
Nunn’s journey from the NBA to EuroLeague has shaped him into one of the league’s most dangerous players, and his relentless commitment to improvement suggests that his dominance is only set to continue.
