Kristiansen Sends Message to Lamine Yamal Suffers Injury

During their Nations League match against Spain’s teenage star Lamine Yamal, Denmark defender Victor Kristiansen declared that he was “not afraid” of the 17-year-old player.

Spain defeated Denmark 1-0 in their Nations League match, with Martin Zubimendi scoring the game-winning goal. However, Barcelona’s wonderkid Lamine Yamal had a rough night, with his effect limited in part by Denmark’s left-back Victor Kristiansen. The Danish defense was a difficult opponent for Yamal, but he was up for the task against the brilliant winger.

Kristiansen’s Warning to Yamal

After the match, Kristiansen spoke to Ekstra Bladet, sharing his approach to the game and his duel with Yamal. He said:

“I didn’t think about whether they would get a yellow card. It was just coming in and saying, ‘Hey, I’m in the fight too. I’m not afraid of you’. When you have the opportunity to make a good fair duel that can do a little damage, you have to take advantage of it.”

Spain and Barcelona are struggling with injuries

While Spain advanced to the Nations League quarterfinals, Yamal’s injury overshadowed the night. The 17-year-old was forced to return to Barcelona and would miss Spain’s forthcoming match with Serbia. Yamal has already contributed five goals and five assists for Barcelona this season, so his absence might be a significant blow to both the club and the country.
