Kristijan Kahlina Named MLS Goalkeeper of the Year

Charlotte FC’s goalkeeper, Kristijan Kahlina, has been awarded the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year for 2024 in recognition of his outstanding performance this season.

Kahlina, aged 32, was a consistent presence for Charlotte FC, playing every minute of the regular season. His efforts were rewarded with a league-leading save percentage of 75.63%, ranking as the fourth-highest in MLS history.

Top Competition for the Award

In a competitive voting process, LAFC’s Hugo Lloris placed second, with Columbus Crew’s U.S. international Patrick Schulte finishing third. Kahlina’s exceptional season has solidified his reputation as one of MLS’s elite goalkeepers, showcasing his critical role in Charlotte FC’s success.
