Kübra Korkut Wins Silver at Paris 2024 Paralympic Games

National athlete Kübra Korkut secured a silver medal in the women’s S7 class in para table tennis at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, after a hard-fought final against her Dutch rival Kelly Van Zon.

The para table tennis competition, held at South Paris Arena 4, saw Korkut face Van Zon, the reigning champion from the last three Paralympic Games. Korkut started strong, winning the first two sets 11-7 and 11-3. However, despite leading 7-3 in the third set, Korkut was unable to stop her opponent’s comeback, eventually losing the set 8-11.

Van Zon went on to win the fourth set 10-12, leveling the match at 2-2. In the deciding set, the Dutch player took control early, leading 2-5 at the court change, and went on to claim the set 4-11, securing her fourth consecutive Paralympic title with a 3-2 victory.

Kübra Korkut adds this silver to her impressive Paralympic record, which includes a team silver in London 2012, an individual silver in Rio 2016, and an individual bronze in Tokyo 2020.
