Lauren Hemp Sets WSL Record with 50th Goal in Man City’s Win Over West Ham

Lauren Hemp made Manchester City history by scoring her 50th Women’s Super League (WSL) goal in a 2-0 victory over West Ham, becoming her the youngest player to do so.

Hemp started the scoring in the tenth minute at Manchester City Joie Stadium, and Mary Fowler added a second midway in the second half to complete the victory. The triumph sent Gareth Taylor’s team to the top of the WSL rankings.

According to OptaJoe, Hemp set a new WSL record by scoring 50 goals at the age of 24 years and 60 days. This goal adds to her achievements, as she just made her 100th appearance for Manchester City. Hemp joined City from Bristol in 2018, and earlier this year signed a new three-year deal that would keep her at the club until 2027.
