LAWSON: “MY GOAL IS TO RACE FOR RED BULL, THESE FIVE RACES WILL BE CRUCIAL”

Liam Lawson is aware that his future depends on the remaining five races of the season.

After a 12-month absence, Lawson made a strong impression by scoring points in his first Formula 1 race back. He acknowledges that his future hinges on the results he achieves this season and states he is doing everything he can.

The New Zealand driver said, “The more time I spend behind the wheel, the better my results will be, but I don’t expect to score points every week. The track we have to race on this weekend will be very different from Austin. However, the American weekend taught me a lot, and I’ve already started to adapt to the car.”

He added, “Still, we can say that we have to start from scratch at every track because there are many circuits I’ve never driven on before. So, I don’t think I’ll be able to immediately showcase my performance from Austin in Mexico City. I need to learn a lot during the practice on Friday.”

Lawson also had to comment on reports regarding Red Bull Racing’s interest in Oscar Piastri. In response to a question on this matter, he said, “I have no information on that. Personally, I have been with Red Bull for six years, and my main goal is to race for this team in the future.”

He added, “I don’t know if that will be next year or later, but right now, my mission is to make the most of the remaining five races of the season. All of them are very important, and my future in Formula 1 depends on these races.”

“I don’t know if I will be with Red Bull Racing after these five races. I just believe these five races will be decisive.”
