Charles Leclerc expressed his satisfaction with Lewis Hamilton’s transfer to Ferrari, stating that it has increased his motivation.
The young star of Ferrari, Charles Leclerc, made candid and humorous remarks about Hamilton’s arrival as a teammate.
The Monaco driver emphasized that Hamilton’s transfer did not create jealousy in him and playfully highlighted his relationship with team principal Fred Vasseur. Leclerc stated at the Festival dello Sport event organized by Gazzetta dello Sport in Trento: “Fred is not my girlfriend! We love and respect each other, but there’s no jealousy.”
Leclerc affirmed that he has a professional relationship with Vasseur and that Hamilton’s addition to the team does not bother him. He also mentioned that he was aware of Hamilton’s transfer to Ferrari and found it motivating: “I was always aware of the discussions between Lewis and Ferrari; I knew this possibility existed. Everything was very transparent, and I was the first to say that having a teammate of this caliber would motivate me.”
Leclerc further discussed the opportunities that come with working alongside the seven-time world champion: “Having a seven-time world champion driving your car is a very interesting challenge. Also, I have a great relationship with Lewis, and I’m sure it will remain that way in the future.”
