Liverpool and Alisson Prepare for Future

Liverpool is already planning for the post-Jürgen Klopp era, with a clear vision for future success. Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson, who received tentative offers from Saudi Arabia this summer, remains committed to staying at Anfield. His focus is on helping new manager Arne Slot achieve glory in England.

Slot, who took over without making any new signings, will rely on the existing squad’s quality and cohesion as he sends out his first competitive team against Brentford on Sunday. Alisson, a key figure in Slot’s strategy, chose to stay and be part of Liverpool’s next chapter rather than pursuing a move elsewhere.

“I want to honour my contract and finish my contract here or make a new one,” says Alisson, whose deal runs out in 2026 with Liverpool possessing an option to extend for another year. “I am really happy here. My family is happy.”

“I never got to the point where I was talking about wages. It was just interest, but when you hear about the numbers the other players are getting [in Saudi Arabia] you are a little bit attracted. That is normal.”
