Liverpool may soon be searching for Mohamed Salah’s replacement, as his future at Anfield is unknown as he approaches the last year of his contract without an extension in place. Rayan Cherki of Lyon has become a strong contender since he is a young, creative, and talented attacker.
Lyon’s Financial Difficulties
Lyon is in serious financial trouble and has to raise almost €100 million (£83 million) to avoid being forced to relegate because of unstable economic conditions, according to estimates from Foot Mercato. Cherki is therefore a tempting proposition for elite European teams, since the Ligue 1 team is apparently willing to sell him in January for a drastically lowered price of €30–35 million (£25–29 million).
