Lonnie Walker, who signed with Zalgiris until the end of the season, talked about his knowledge of his new team and the elements he likes in its game.Lonnie Walker, who signed a contract with Zalgiris Kaunas this week, flew to Lithuania on Sunday evening.The 25-year-old shooting guard shared his excitement about the new chapter in his career.
“I am very optimistic. I can’t wait to see what awaits me here,” Walker told Zalgiris TV.
“I have joined a great team that is having an amazing season in the EuroLeague. I think we just came off a 15-16 point win today?”, he asked, referring to Zalgiris 84-67 LKL home win over Juventus Utena.
Walker, a 6-year NBA veteran who averaged 9.8 points during his career in the league, assured that he had already seen several matches of Zalgiris.
“So, I’ve been tuning in to see what I can do and be a part of a winning team and the its culture,” he said, while also stressing some of the aspects in Zalgiris’ game that he liked.
“Honestly, [I feel] excitement. They play defense, play team basketball and winning basketball. That’s all it matters. I’m always excited to be a part of winning basketball. I want to be able to fight for titles, and whatever aspect that may be,” he pointed out.
