Man Utd Eye Ruben Amorim as Potential Erik ten Hag Replacement

In the event that Erik ten Hag is fired, Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim has allegedly been selected by Manchester United as a possible replacement. Amorim’s recent success at Sporting has apparently impressed United authorities, and he is being considered as a potential successor, according to GIVEMESPORT.

Amorim’s Sporting teammate Bruno Fernandes has also shown his respect for the Portuguese boss, calling him someone who “plays the best football” and thinking Amorim could be successful in England.

With United’s dismal start to the season—two victories in seven games—and their current 14th-place standing in the Premier League, Ten Hag is under growing pressure. After discussions this week, Ten Hag appears to have kept his job, but more difficulties could result in his resignation.

What Bruno Fernandes Said

Speaking about Amorim during international duty with Portugal, Fernandes said: “Since Mister Amorim arrived at Sporting, they have been one of the teams playing the best football. The team has been consistent, the signings have been spot on, and they are in a very good moment.”

Fernandes added: “Sporting went 20 years without winning championships, and Amorim arrived and has already won two. That shows the quality of his work. Whether he could replicate that success in England, Spain, or elsewhere is something we won’t know until it happens, but his qualities are clear for everyone to see.”
