Man Utd Set to Intensify Pursuit of Frenkie de Jong as Transfer Window Closes

Man Utd Will ‘Spare No Effort’ to Land Ten Hag’s Favorite

Manchester United will reportedly ‘spare no effort’ to land Frenkie de Jong at the end of the summer transfer window, a move described as the ‘icing on the cake’ for the club.

United has done well in adding quality players to the squad this summer. Joshua Zirkzee has been brought in for the attack, while promising center-back Leny Yoro has also joined. Additionally, Erik ten Hag’s former players Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui have been signed.

However, with Casemiro failing to impress last season and Christian Eriksen being allowed to leave, a new midfield signing has become a priority at Old Trafford.

Throughout Ten Hag’s two years at Manchester United, Barcelona’s former Ajax midfielder De Jong has been a top target. Although he rejected United a couple of years ago, it’s now believed that he could be available for £51 million.

While United has already invested considerable effort in pursuing Manuel Ugarte for about a month, they are still struggling to finalize that deal. This may make them more eager to pursue De Jong, despite ongoing efforts to secure the Paris Saint-Germain player.

Convincing De Jong to make the move might still be a challenge, especially since he previously turned down the Red Devils and is reportedly reluctant to leave Barcelona.
