Marc-Andre ter Stegen Injury Blow for Barcelona!

Barcelona’s German goalkeeper, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, suffered a serious injury during the match against Villarreal. It has been confirmed that he has torn the patellar tendon in his right knee.

In the 6th round of La Liga, Barcelona defeated Villarreal 5-1 away. Ter Stegen was injured in the 44th minute following a corner kick from Villarreal and was replaced by Inaki Pena. The club later announced that the German keeper suffered a torn patellar tendon in his right knee. Ter Stegen is not expected to play for the remainder of the season due to the injury.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper, in his 11th season with Barcelona, played 7 matches this season, including 6 in La Liga and 1 in the Champions League. Following his injury, it is anticipated that Inaki Pena, who spent half a season on loan at Galatasaray, will step in for the remainder of the season.
