McLaren has officially appealed to the FIA regarding the 5-second penalty imposed on Lando Norris at the United States GP.
Norris received the penalty in the final stages of the race after going off-track during an overtaking maneuver against Max Verstappen, which was deemed to give him an advantage.
According to the FIA’s statement, McLaren has requested a review of this decision. FIA has asked McLaren representatives to attend a video conference on October 25, where McLaren’s new evidence will be assessed. If new and significant information emerges, race stewards may reconsider the decision in a second hearing.
