Monaco delivered a dominant performance in the third matchday of the Champions League, defeating Serbian side Red Star Belgrade 5-1 at the Stade Louis II.
The goals for Monaco came from Takumi Minamino, who netted twice in the 20th and 70th minutes, Breel Embolo in added time of the first half (45+4), Wilfried Singo in the 54th minute, and Maghnes Akliouche in the 96th minute. Red Star’s only goal came from Cherif Ndiaye, who scored a penalty in the 27th minute, with the former Göztepe and Adana Demirspor striker providing a brief moment of hope for the visitors.
With this victory, Monaco now has 7 points in the group, while Red Star remains without a point after three matches.
