Naomi Osaka Confirms Split with Coach

Naomi Osaka Announces Split with Coach Wim Fissette Amid Rumors of Patrick Mouratoglou Partnership

Naomi Osaka has announced the end of her second stint with coach Wim Fissette, confirming the split on social media.

“Four years, two Slams, and a whole lot of memories,” Osaka shared in an Instagram story on Friday. “Thanks Wim for being a great coach and an even greater person. Wishing you all the best.”

Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam singles champion, originally teamed up with Fissette ahead of the 2020 season, during which she won the 2020 US Open and the 2021 Australian Open. The duo had parted ways in 2022 before reuniting for a second spell. Fissette, known for coaching several major champions including Kim Clijsters, Simona Halep, Angelique Kerber, and Victoria Azarenka, has been integral to Osaka’s success in recent years.

There are now reports suggesting that Osaka could be pairing up with Patrick Mouratoglou, another renowned coach, as she prepares for her next chapter.
