Nemanja Nedovic won’t play against ASVEL due to a hamstring injury, while Milos Teodosic is doubtful because of a hip injury. After an impressive victory over AS Monaco, the Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade arrived in Lyon ahead of their EuroLeague showdown with LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne on Thursday at 20:00.The French side, fresh off a narrow loss to Olympiacos in Piraeus, presents a tough challenge for Ioannis Sfairopoulos’ squad.
Unfortunately for Crvena Zvezda, they will be without Nemanja Nedovic for the game in Lyon. The Serbian guard is dealing with a hamstring issue and cannot take the court.
This season Nedovic has been averaging 10.0 points, 3.0 assists, and 8.9 PIR in the EuroLeague.
To make matters worse, veteran point guard Milos Teodosic is also doubtful due to a hip injury sustained during the win over Monaco. It remains unclear whether he will be fit to play against ASVEL.
The Serbian guard is averaging 4.7 points, and 3.2 assists, for 12.9 minutes per game in the EuroLeague.
Despite these challenges, the team has remained upbeat, with their coach, Ioannis Sfairopoulos, stressing the importance of focus.
“After our win over Monaco, we face another challenge,” Sfairopoulos said via Mozzart Sport. “ASVEL is a great athletic team that, despite injuries, has shown its quality. We can’t underestimate them. We must stay focused and not let them dictate the game. The key is to follow our plan and do what we want to do on the court.”
Luka Mitrovic, the team’s experienced forward, echoed his coach’s sentiments, emphasizing the need to stay sharp despite their recent success.
“After the big win over Monaco, we arrived in Lyon with the goal of continuing our momentum. But one win is not enough in this double round. The good mood won’t make us complacent tomorrow against Asvel; we’ll be well-prepared,” Mitrovic stated.
