Neymar Reduced to Tears Reflecting on His 12-Month Injury Nightmare

While talking about his 12-month fight with injuries, Neymar broke down in tears and revealed the tremendous physical and psychological toll it took to get back to full fitness. After missing out on action due to a catastrophic knee ligament injury sustained during October 2023 World Cup qualifications, the great Brazilian is now set to make his eagerly anticipated return to Saudi Pro League action with Al-Hilal.

After missing a year of action, concerns regarding 32-year-old Neymar’s future in football surfaced. The forward is motivated to disprove those who disbelieve him, even if there has been speculation that his relocation to the Middle East may be shortened. Neymar has been included in Al-Hilal’s roster for their AFC Champions League match against Al-Ain, indicating his preparedness to return to competitive action, having resumed full training.

Neymar’s Emotional Reflection

Speaking on the NR Sports YouTube channel, Neymar shared the emotional and physical struggles he endured during his recovery. Fighting back tears, he said:

“I felt a huge pain. In that moment I already knew it was serious. What I want most in life is to play football. I have suffered every day I’ve been away from the pitch. This is what hurts me the most.”

Neymar expressed his gratitude to his family and friends, who provided support throughout his difficult journey, and reaffirmed his passion for the game.

“I am focused on the most important people in my life, my family and friends, and football. I have risen every time I have been injured. But I don’t return halfway.”
