NORRIS: “I’M NOT PROUD OF THE VICTORY I RECEIVED”
Lando Norris made statements about his teammate Oscar Piastri leaving the lead in the Brazilian sprint race. While Oscar Piastri was the leader in the Brazilian GP sprint race, it was replaced by Lando Norris with McLaren’s instructions. This change allowed Norris to increase the point difference in the championship by 2 points.
After the fight, Lando Norris said: “I can’t say I’m proud of this situation, but now we work well together as a team.”
“Thank you Oscar, we did a great job as a team. That was the result we wanted today. Oscar deserved a win, but we did what had to be done. So I thank him and the team.”
“Did I have the speed to pass the Oscar on the track? If we look at it only in terms of speed, it’s difficult. It was a little bumpy; I was getting a little closer and retreating, then I was approaching again.”
“The dirty weather wastes a lot than the lap time, I was a little faster but I couldn’t pass at that time. I was fine though.”
“It’s hard to manage this situation in such a sprint race, to know how hard you will push. But we applied it well.”
