Galatasaray’s Nigerian star Victor Osimhen made remarks before a training session, clarifying his future with the club. Osimhen confirmed that he will not leave in the winter transfer window and expressed his desire to achieve success with Galatasaray.
The Süper Lig leaders, Galatasaray, are preparing for their Week 9 away match against Antalyaspor, with training continuing during the international break at Florya Metin Oktay Facilities.
WILL OSIMHEN STAY AT GALATASARAY?
Osimhen spoke about his journey to Galatasaray, his experiences at the club, and his recent injury.
“It’s a privilege for me to be here,” said Osimhen. “Drogba played here as well. I’m happy when I remember how the Galatasaray fans welcomed me. I couldn’t be happier anywhere else. My goal is to finish this season here. I make decisions about my future, and I don’t want anyone else to make them for me.”
Reflecting on how he was convinced to join Galatasaray, Osimhen added, “At first, I wasn’t satisfied after the initial talks, and I was thinking of leaving after three or four months. But then I had a great conversation with the coach, and he convinced me not just as a coach but like a father. His words touched me deeply. I knew the team had great quality, and I’m happy to be part of this club. We are going to achieve big things.”
Osimhen also spoke highly of his teammates: “Dzeko and Icardi are special strikers. I don’t put myself above the team. Icardi is a legend here, and we’ve shown how well we can work together. Goals and assists are important, but helping Galatasaray in every possible way matters more to me than being the top scorer.”
Regarding his injury, Osimhen explained: “I came off during the Kasımpaşa match as a precaution. The club’s medical team has been very helpful. Today, I’m returning to team training. I’ve been working hard during and before the international break. What happens next will be the coach’s decision.”
