O’WARD TO REPLACE NORRIS IN MEXICO PRACTICE SESSION

Teams are required by regulations to run a rookie driver during two Friday practice sessions each season. The driver must not have competed in more than two Formula 1 races.

For the upcoming Mexican GP, McLaren has chosen IndyCar’s young talent Pato O’Ward to take part in the first practice session on Friday.

The Mexican driver will get the opportunity to race in front of his home crowd. O’Ward has previously completed multiple tests with McLaren and took the wheel of the MCL60 in last year’s Abu Dhabi practice session.
