Panathinaikos Player Found Dead at Home

It has been reported that George Baldock, a player for the Panathinaikos football team in the Greek Super League, was found dead in his home pool last night.

Panathinaikos expressed their sorrow on their X account today, stating, “We are very shocked and saddened by the loss of our George. The Panathinaikos family is in mourning due to his unfortunate death. We stand by George Baldock’s family and loved ones.”

According to a report from Greek State Television ERT, Baldock’s wife, who resides in England, could not reach him by phone for a long time. She sent someone familiar to check on him at home. The person who arrived found Baldock, who also played for the Greek national football team, dead in the pool.

The initial autopsy revealed no suspicion of foul play. It has been suggested that the 31-year-old Baldock may have passed away approximately five hours before being found in the pool.
