Puerto Rican boxer Paul Bamba, the reigning WBA Gold Cruiserweight champion, has tragically passed away at the age of 35, as announced by his manager, Ne-Yo, in a joint statement with Bamba’s family.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of beloved son, brother, friend, and boxing champion Paul Bamba, whose light and love touched countless lives.”
Bamba was praised not only for his exceptional boxing career but also for his determination and inspirational character:

A Remarkable 2024 Season
Bamba had an outstanding 2024, winning all 14 of his bouts by knockout, culminating in his WBA Gold Cruiserweight title victory against Rogelio Medina on 21 December in New Jersey.
In his final Instagram post following that win, Bamba reflected on his journey:
“This year I set out with a goal. I did just that. Wasn’t easy, there were many obstacles that I adapted to overcome. If you’ve got what some might call an outlandish goal, go chase it.”
In his professional career, Bamba recorded 19 wins in 22 bouts, with an impressive 18 victories by knockout.
