PEREZ: “I DON’T GET ANGRY AT VERSTAPPEN BECAUSE HE’S BETTER THAN ME”
Sergio Perez shared the challenges of racing alongside Max Verstappen and discussed the difficulties he faced in the 2024 season.
Sergio Perez is going through a tough time in the 2024 Formula 1 season. The Mexican driver has been overshadowed by the superior performance of his teammate Max Verstappen and has lost the rhythm he had at the beginning of the season.
Since the Miami Grand Prix, Perez has failed to finish in the top five in races, putting a lot of pressure on him. Speaking to DAZN about his struggles in recent months, Perez said: “This season has been really tough. Racing with a car that has limitations in many areas and not being able to show myself fully is truly frustrating.”
“When your teammate is winning and doing really well, it becomes a bigger obstacle in front of you every race.”
“I wish I could forget the last six months; it’s been really hard. But I ask myself: Why should I be angry at Max? If he’s better than me, I can only respect that.”
