Barcelona’s Registration Woes: Olmo and Victor’s January Future in Doubt
Financial constraints are once again a worry as Barcelona struggles to re-register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor for the second half of the season. Due to financial limitations, the Catalan club first experienced delays in both players’ registrations, but they were temporarily fixed. But according to recent sources, Olmo and Victor might encounter another registration obstacle after December 31 if fresh funding doesn’t materialize.
Barcelona had relied on a substantial contract extension with Nike, estimated to be worth €60 million, to get through this financial difficulty. However, this expected agreement might not be completed until January or later, which would put the club in a challenging situation. Barcelona might have to make difficult decisions about which players to prioritize for registration in the absence of these monies.
Christensen’s Return Complicates the Conundrum
The difficulty is increased by the fact that another player needs to be registered because defender Andreas Christensen is anticipated to return in January from an Achilles injury. According to reports, Barcelona may currently only be able to sign Christensen or Olmo for the second half of the season, which is a major worry for the team.
