BINOTTO: “FERRARI SHOULD FOCUS ON LECLERC, NOT HAMILTON”

Mattia Binotto argued that despite Lewis Hamilton’s potential move to Ferrari, the team’s focus should remain on Charles Leclerc.

The possibility of Lewis Hamilton transferring to Ferrari has stirred significant discussion in the Formula 1 world, including former Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto.

Now leading Audi’s F1 operations, Binotto stated that if he had continued with Ferrari, he would not have brought Hamilton to the team. In an interview with Corriere della Sera, he said, “Hamilton made the right decision by going to Ferrari, but if it were up to me, I would not have executed this transfer.”

The former Ferrari team principal emphasized that Ferrari should center its future championship ambitions around the young talent Charles Leclerc. Binotto stated, “Ferrari’s eyes are on other drivers.”

“If the talent is with Leclerc, I believe he should be carried to the championship,” he concluded.
