Ceremony Held for Late Nilüfer Belediyespor Volleyball Player Pilar Marie Victoria Lopez

A solemn ceremony was held at Nilüfer Municipality Sports Facilities in honor of Pilar Marie Victoria Lopez, the Puerto Rican spiker of Nilüfer Belediyespor Women’s Volleyball Team, who was tragically found dead in her home last Thursday. Nilüfer Mayor Şadi Özdemir, who extended his heartfelt condolences to Lopez’s family during the ceremony, announced that the athlete’s name will be given to the training hall as a tribute.

Authorities reported no suspicious circumstances surrounding the young athlete’s death, noting that there were no signs of forced entry or disturbance in the home. It was also disclosed that Lopez had been taking medication for insomnia. Her body has been taken to the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institution following an examination by the prosecutor’s office to determine the exact cause of death.
