Emre Belozoglu evaluated the match in which Fenerbahce defeated Union Saint-Gilloise 2-1 in the UEFA Europa League.
Speaking on the NutSpor YouTube channel, Emre Belozoglu discussed the match where Fenerbahce won 2-1 against Union Saint-Gilloise in the first week of the UEFA Europa League. His statements were as follows:
I must say that I really like the atmosphere of Fenerbahce’s stadium.
While social media or the general sentiment might suggest there’s a prevailing unhappiness, the atmosphere of the stadium made me happy in that regard. The energy of the stadium was really good.
I didn’t see any problem in Fenerbahce’s eagerness, desire, or effort to achieve something. I can include the derby in this as well.
However, I see that Fenerbahce’s ability to accelerate with the ball and close the distance to move together during the opponent’s possession is somewhat problematic. This is not something that cannot be fixed.
That speed is not only a criterion for ball possession. It’s also about being able to quickly adjust the distance when the ball is passed to the opponent…
I think Galatasaray does this well in the Turkish league by a wide margin. Fenerbahce has a deficiency in this regard.
Fenerbahce is more about welcoming… I wouldn’t say there’s absolutely no desire or ambition, but I do think it’s not sufficient. There’s definitely room for improvement in that area.
Some players, when facing a one-on-one situation at the age of 16 or 17, strike the ball as if they were 38 years old.
Some players perform poorly at 16 but excel at 23, as they improve through repetition.
Szymanski appears to be a player who can improve with more repetition, at least based on what I’ve seen over the past two years.
I find Mourinho’s refusal to avoid controversy strategic. I think this is part of his strategy. Wasn’t he like this in the past as well? He doesn’t only do this with us.
