Ghana Manager Otto Addo Addresses Thomas Partey’s Omission from National Squad
Ghana’s head coach, Otto Addo, has provided insight into the decision to exclude Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey from the national team’s upcoming fixtures against Angola and Niger. Despite Partey’s expressed desire to participate, Addo emphasized that the choice was made for “confidential” reasons.
Thomas Partey has been a consistent presence for Arsenal this season, starting in all Premier League and Champions League matches, including a full 90-minute performance against Inter Milan on Wednesday. His fitness and form have been evident, making his absence from the national squad notable.
Addo’s Statement
Addressing the media, Addo stated: “I made it quite clear to Thomas that, for reasons I prefer to keep confidential, he would not be included in the squad this time. He expressed his willingness to join, but I believe this decision is in the best interest of the team at this moment.”
