Harry Kane made history as he became the top-scoring English player in Bundesliga history, netting his 41st league goal for Bayern Munich in a dominant 5-0 victory over Werder Bremen.
Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala gave the visitors a two-goal lead at halftime, before Kane slotted past Werder goalkeeper Michael Zetterer from the edge of the box, surpassing Jadon Sancho’s record of 40 Bundesliga goals.
Former Crystal Palace winger Olise grabbed his second goal of the afternoon three minutes later, while Serge Gnabry sealed the win with a curling finish.
The result keeps Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga, maintaining their perfect record of four wins from four matches.
Kane’s Landmark Moment
Kane’s 41st Bundesliga goal broke Sancho’s record, which the England captain achieved in just 36 matches, compared to Sancho’s 118 games for Borussia Dortmund. Tony Woodcock held the previous record of 39 goals in 131 games for Cologne in the 1980s.
A Record-Breaking Week for Kane
Earlier in the week, Kane became the top-scoring English player in Champions League history after scoring four goals in Bayern’s 9-2 victory over Dinamo Zagreb. Now, he adds another accolade by becoming the highest-scoring English player in Bundesliga history.
Bayern Munih’de kendini buldu, kıracağı rekorları görmek için sabırsızlanıyorum
