Jose Alvarado out six weeks with hamstring injury

Another injury blow to New Orleans: Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado is expected to miss six weeks due to a hamstring injury, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.

The Pelicans are now without several key players, including Alvarado, Zion Williamson (hamstring strain), Herbert Jones (shoulder strain), Dejounte Murray (hand), CJ McCollum (adductor strain), and Jordan Hawkins (low back strain).

Alvarado has been on a hot streak lately, delivering standout performances with back-to-back games of 20-plus points and five assists last week. This month, he’s averaged 15.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 1.7 steals while shooting 41.9% from three-point range.

In his fourth season with New Orleans, Alvarado is posting career highs with 10.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 25.6 minutes per game.
