Mohamed Salah Focused on Final Year at Liverpool

Mohamed Salah Focused on Enjoying Final Year of Liverpool Contract

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has stated that his primary focus is on enjoying the final year of his current contract before deciding on his future. The 32-year-old’s contract with the Reds is set to expire this summer, and he has yet to sign a new deal.

Last September, Liverpool turned down a £150 million offer from Al-Ittihad for Salah. Speaking to Sky Sports, Salah said:

“Before the season, I thought, ‘I’ve got one year left, let’s just enjoy it and not worry about the contract.’ I don’t want to think about next year or the future; I just want to enjoy this last year and see what happens. The most important thing is to take it one day at a time and be grateful to be here.”

In July 2022, Salah signed a three-year contract extension, reportedly becoming the highest-paid player in Liverpool’s history, earning over £350,000 per week. He has adapted well under new Liverpool manager Arne Slot, scoring in the first two Premier League matches of the season after having only played under former boss Jürgen Klopp during his time at Anfield. Salah won every major trophy with Klopp except the Europa League.
