NBA management changes All-Star game format
The American National Basketball League NBA continues to develop new projects in order to continue to increase interest in the global sense as the world’st top basketball organization.
Since its establishment, NBA, which is considered the center of basketball, one of the world’s most popular sports, and one of the most important structures in the sports industry, has brought many talented athletes to basketball, such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, and at the same time, as a popular culture icon, has developed a number of events to increase the global recognition of basketball with these players.
The All-Star organization, which was chosen from the star players who performed well in the regular season, continues as one of them.
However, criticism continues to come that the All-Star matches, where the best players of the NBA come together, have turned into a boring exhibition game that is far from competitive. The NBA management, which justifies these criticisms, is preparing to take steps in this direction.
NBA President Adam Silver said in a statement on Saturday night that he is considering changing the format of the NBA’s All-Star Game to be played in San Francisco. Silver just said, “We’re looking at other formats,” without specifying details. There is no doubt that the players were also disappointed in last year’s All-Star game. We all want to do a better job of offering competition and entertainment to our fans,” he said. As it will be remembered last season, the Eastern Conference defeated the Western Conference 211-186, becoming the first match with the most points scored in the All-Star’s 73-year history and a team to pass 200 points.
Silver said he has commissioned Golden State star Stephen Curry to make the All-Star Game more competitive this season.
“It’s an home game for him,” Silver said, adding that they talked to Curry about making the All-Star game more competitive in some ways. He said the league has wanted this for a while and hoped that a better All-Star event would generate better television ratings and more external interest for the game.
