Nigel Hayes-Davis: “Devon Hall’s Negativity Fueled Me”

Fenerbahce Beko star Nigel Hayes-Davis, who scored 25 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to lead his team to victory over Bayern Munich, shared his thoughts after the game:

“Actually, Devon Hall had a magic bottle,” he joked in response to a question about having a ‘Space Jam’ magic water bottle. “I told him I was going to heat up in the second half, but he didn’t believe me. His negativity fueled me. I also want to give special thanks to our Greek physiotherapist. I was dealing with an issue before the game, and he helped me overcome it, which allowed me to feel good on the court. My teammates believed in me, the coach drew up plays for me. Even with zero points, they trusted me. I believed in myself, too, and kept encouraging myself with positive thoughts. And honestly, being hated also motivates me. I just aim to be a better teammate and to lead my team to victory—that’s all.”
