Wilfried Zaha Nearing the End of His Lyon Stint
Wilfried Zaha, currently on loan to Lyon from Galatasaray, has found himself on the outs with Lyon’s head coach, Pierre Sage, and may return to Galatasaray before the end of the season.
Brought in with high expectations, Zaha has struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup, failing to perform to the level anticipated. His struggles to adapt have led to tensions with Sage, who has expressed dissatisfaction with Zaha’s commitment, behavior, and physical form. In response, Zaha posted on social media, indicating a lack of concern about the criticism, further fueling the controversy.
According to L’Équipe, a leading French sports publication, there’s a possibility that Zaha could cut his loan spell short and rejoin Galatasaray in the winter transfer window. So far, Zaha has only managed to appear in five games for Lyon this season, providing a single assist, a far cry from the impact he had at Galatasaray last season, where he played 43 games, netting 10 goals and contributing 5 assists.
Lyon secured the 31-year-old winger on a €3 million loan deal, but with his limited appearances and ongoing conflicts, the arrangement may end sooner than planned.
