QUARTARARO : “WE CAN NOW GET POSITIVE RESULTS FROM ALL THE TRACKS”
At the Malaysian Grand Prix last weekend, Quartararo and his teammate Alex Rins managed to enter the top 10 for the first time in the 2024 season.
Both Quartararo and Rins underlined the progress made on the electronic side.
After Saturday’s qualifying rounds, Quartararo said, “We’ve made some big changes in the electronics.”
When asked if it was like riding an old 500cc grand prix motorcycle, the French driver said, “Not exactly, but basically a little bit.”
“I need to control the motorcycle a lot more and it’s become a lot more difficult for me to drive, but we have more performance and that’s what we were looking for.”
“I think we took a good step in just a few days. Now we can get positive results from all tracks.”
“Japan was one of the weakest tracks, but our speed was great in Australia, Mandalika. We were fast on wet and dry ground in Thailand.”
“I hope we can now see the difference between us and the point we are in Barcelona,” he replied.
Rins used similar expressions after having the best weekend of the season in terms of the eighth place he got on Sunday.
“I started to control the motorcycle a little more, it’s very important to me,” Rins said.
“It’s more or less the same in terms of power and top speed, but the electronic component works a little better,” he said.
