Real Madrid Move Swiftly in Bid to Sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz
According to reports, Real Madrid has begun negotiations with Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen in an effort to get the gifted midfield player before Manchester City and Bayern Munich do. Top clubs have taken notice of the 21-year-old Germany international after he played a crucial part in Bayer Leverkusen’s historic Bundesliga title victory the previous season. Madrid wants to complete a deal before their rivals do.
Leverkusen, led by Xabi Alonso, won the Bundesliga by a commanding 17 points thanks to Wirtz’s outstanding efforts. This was the team’s first-ever league victory. Because of this, Wirtz’s market value has increased dramatically, and Leverkusen is said to have set a price tag of €150 million (£126 million/$166 million) for its valued star.
Real Madrid is in the lead
Leverkusen would prefer to see the outstanding midfield player transfer outside of Germany in order to avoid bolstering its domestic rivals, even though Manchester City and Bayern Munich have been informed of Real Madrid’s interest. Wirtz’s future seems increasingly geared toward a move, most likely next summer, even though Leverkusen would prefer to keep him on with a new contract.
